the wedding
duration 1:30:00in collaboration with Federico Nessi aka Be My Wife

In this performance, I explore the phrase “Be my wife” as a statement that carries both desire and possession. Starting from the absurdity of marriage traditions, I dive into the visual language of wedding portraiture: the repetitive poses, subtle hand gestures, staged intimacy and extreme awkwardness. By transforming myself into these portraits, becoming both figures in the image, I aim to blend it into something else, something fluid, something genderless, using mock weddings and crossdressing as references.
